HOW TO GET THERE – Welcome to Socotra

Since the reopening of the commercial air route to Socotra, the ABU DHABI - SOCOTRA connection has become 100% reliable allowing tourism on the island once again. Today you can reach Socotra with a weekly NON-STOP DIRECT FLIGHT from Abu Dhabi that is scheduled for every TUESDAY.

It's a governmental charter flight and they do not offer online booking yet. This unfortunately means that in order to get a seat on this in demand flight you need to be assisted by a local agency. To ease this process we use our local contacts to help make your flight reservations.

VISA

All tourists need a Yemeni visa to visit Socotra island. WE TAKE CARE OF THE WHOLE PROCEDURE FOR YOU.
The process usually takes few days and the visa will be issued here by the island authorities.
Free yourself from the headache of complicated visa procedures. The experienced staff at “Welcome to Socotra” have got you covered.

The only thing we need from you is a photo of the main page of your passport. Once we obtained your visa we will send you a copy by email, you just need to print it and show it at the Dubai check-in counter in order to board the flight. We will be waiting for you with the original copy of your visa at the arrival hall at the Socotri airport.

CANCELLATION POLICY

In case you cannot travel and you want to cancel your booking we can help you to get a refund for your flight tickets. The WTS tour deposit is non-refundable. Please note that the company operating the charter flight "Emirates Aviation Services" cancellation policy is as stated on their tickets: "Ticket refund must be requested 8 days before departure" (400 AED penalty fees apply). Within 8 days before departure modification/cancellation is not allowed.”

In the event of the airline canceling the flight, forcing our company to cancel a tour, we will reimburse you the full amount of your deposit.

Socotra non è solo un viaggio ma è condivisione e spensieratezza Visitare Socotra con Welcome è stato perfetto! Tutto lo staff si è dimostrato sempre disponibile oltre ad essere tutti molto alla mano, simpatici e gentili. Ogni giorno ci montavano e smontavano le tende rapidamente, i pasti sono sempre stati puntuali e i pneumatici venivano sostituiti in tempo record! Le guide, locale e italiana, sono sempre state disponibili e abbiamo sempre fatto due chiacchiere con loro passando delle serate davvero piacevoli. Abbiamo avuto l’occasione anche di conoscere Matteo, uno dei proprietari di Welcome, e anche lui è una persona davvero genuina e appassionata dell’isola e del suo lavoro. Welcome è stata la ciliegina sulla torta di un luogo gia eccezionale di per sè.

Truly magnificent I cannot praise Welcome to Socotra enough for all the hard work and effort they put in to make this the holiday of a lifetime. Matteo and his excellent team did a brilliant job in showing us the beautiful island of Socotra. The views are simply stunning, the exotic fauna and flora beautiful, and the people very friendly. A special mention to Wagdi for imparting his extensive Socotran knowledge and to Salah for keeping us safe on the roads & tracks and for always smiling. This was a brilliant adventure that could not have been better organised and planned. Thank you Matteo !!! P.s…practical tip: there are swimming opportunities every day, so take at least 2 towels (the lightweight camping ones which fold into nothing).

Trip of a lifetime! Socotra Island is stunning filled with incredible sites to be explored! Everyday I found myself in awe at the wild natural beauty of the island. Welcome to Socotra made this experience unforgettable with their team. The guides, drivers and cooks made sure we were cared for and went above and beyond. The island of smiles Frankly, it’s hard to describe with words our journey in Socotra, it’s not only a trip it’s an experience! Everything was absolutely amazing, and every day was a crescendo of beauty to admire and some of the kindest and most welcoming people to meet. Not to mention the unbelievable “Welcome to Socotra” crew, they made our stay unforgettable. I think that places like Socotra are very peculiar for Westerners, and to fully enjoy them you must rely on people who know locals and know the most beautiful corners like no others. I cried with emotion... As always... In front of so many beauties of Nature... The island of Socotra, which Marco Polo also wrote about in 'Il Milione', is 350 kilometers south of the coast of Yemen and 300 kilometers from those of Somalia, almost isolated from the world until the construction of the airport in 2002. Sandy and green on the coast, but mountainous in the interior, it is home to 825 types of fauna and flora, a third of them endemic, that is, present only on the island... Beniamino and the impeccable organization of Welcome to Socotra introduced us (Toyota and tent) to this still uncontaminated paradise of beaches and white dunes, blue sea, canyons, breathtaking landscapes and atmospheres, karst mountains and forests of Drago and Adenium obesum trees '...
