Located some 240 kilometers (150 mi) east off of the horn of Africa and 380 kilometres (240 mi) south of the arabian peninsula.
Socotra island is the second largest island in the eastern Indian Ocean.

Along with its neighbouring islands: Abd Al-Kuri, Samha and Darsa, it forms the sSocotra Archielago. One of the most bothanically diverse island groups in the world.
